Why is my cat suddenly paranoid and hiding?

Perhaps something has frightened it.I don't know if the presence of other cat has suddenly created it suspicion.Are you sure that you have not done something that scared it?May be a horrible scent coming from the rubbing on your clothes of another animal or an odd color or one of your clothes is unpleasant to it
