Hospital Prescriptions?

Where I live now (a city in the southern part of United States), when you go to the hospital and get a prescription, the form is white and the size of a sheet of computer paper. It has a barcode on it and it is also typed. I want to know are hospital prescriptions the same in your area as well? Do all US hospitals do this? If so, why do hospitals use a form that can so easily be copied/doctored? I was a bit apprehensive of taking the prescription to a pharmacy because it didn't look like the normal prescriptions and I didn't want them to hle me and accuse me of forgery.
