Anyone ever had a problem on the Sims 3 where a person froze?

I have had the same problem when I adopted a child and the kid just froze in the air, as if he was sitting in the car. Eventually, she died. I have also had this happen in the Sims 2, when two Sims wouldn't get out of bed. Even if I tried all of the cheats, it still didn't work. I suggest calling EA Tech Support. That's what I did on the Sims 2 problem. He made me move the family out of the house and package all their belongings, and then move them back in. Hope it helps. :)
